London Councils' work in this area includes ensuring that developing pan-London initiatives reflect local needs and working with the Violence Against Women and Girls [VAWG] Panel and MOPAC to take forward the London VAWG Strategy, including the issue of funding and provision of refuge beds.

The Lead Member for Crime and Public Protection is Cllr Lib Peck, Leader of Lambeth Council, who is co-chair of the VAWG Panel, as of September 2017.

London Councils also funds the Ascent Partnership to deliver services to tackle sexual and domestic violence across all the London boroughs under Priority 2 of the Grants Programme, which covers the period 2017-2021.
